SIP Trunking

Retain your existing telecoms infrastructure, whilst gaining the functionality and advantages of IP telephony.

Overview

large arrow

SIP Trunks allow businesses to retain the advantages of their existing telecoms equipment, whilst gaining the additional functionality and benefits of IP telephony.

SIP Trunks complement or replace your existing analogue or ISDN lines to deliver the cost benefits and flexibility of VoIP over fast broadband links. SIP VoIP communications running over ADSL, cable or SDSL broadband lines through a SIP trunk, provide a more flexible, cost effective telephony solution than a traditional PABX system. SIP, together with an IP PBX VoIP system, brings enterprise level telephony to small and medium sized businesses, at a price they can afford.

SIP allows integration of voice and data on SpiriTel’s private broadband network, giving streamlined communications that can save up to 50% per trunk, compared with single analogue trunk connections.

Features

SIP trunks can be enabled immediately, unlike ISDN lines, and offer the same or better functionality at a substantially lower cost. They also allow businesses of all sizes to maximise the use of their available bandwidth allowing voice, data and even video to be carried efficiently across the network.

This solution offers a future proofed and innovative service to customers who do not wish to replace their existing telecoms equipment but may want to take advantage of IP telephony features in the future, whilst also continuing to maximise existing infrastructure and reduce call costs.

THE BENEFITS

A SIP trunk delivers important cost benefits:

  • Enhanced Services: Can be quickly provisioned and at lower costs than a legacy TDM carrier.
  • Bundled Services: SpiriTel can offer a bundled service arrangement involving data and voice networking between locations and access to the public Internet.

  • Equipment Consolidation: Because data and voice are carried on the same circuit, enterprises have the opportunity to consolidate their networking equipment for a reduced infrastructure maintenance and investment.
  • Scalability: SIP trunking requires only one SIP connection to the carrier’s network per location. This contrasts with TDM voice networking, where separate point-to-point circuits are associated with each remote office connection.
